CHATHAM, NY (July 29, 2026)—The Mac-Haydn Theatre invites audiences to experience one of musical theatre’s most charming hidden gems as Daddy Long Legs comes to the stage for a special limited engagement. Directed by Producing Artistic Director John Saunders, this heartfelt musical will be performed for two performances only on Wednesday, July 29, and Friday, July 31.
Based on the classic novel by Jean Webster, Daddy Long Legs tells the touching story of Jerusha Abbott, an orphan whose life changes when an anonymous benefactor offers to fund her college education—on one condition: she must write him monthly letters, though she will never know his identity. As years of correspondence unfold, an unexpected connection blossoms in this witty, romantic musical filled with soaring melodies and heartfelt emotion.
The production stars Jessica Cerreta as the spirited Jerusha Abbott alongside Kevin Egan as the mysterious Jervis Pendleton. Together, the pair brings warmth, humor, and emotional depth to this intimate two-person musical.
