The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking Scenic Carpenters for its upcoming summer 2026 Season. Located 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every summer. Scenic Carpenters will work directly with the Scenic Designer and Technical Director to execute the building and installation of all productions in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong background in scenic construction and must be proficient with hand and power tools, drafting, as well as basic/advanced scenic painting.
Qualified candidates must be able to lift 75 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover. $500.00 weekly, housing, and travel stipend are provided. Job Dates: May 29-September 6, 2026 (flexible).

The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking Costume Shop Technicians (Stitchers) for its upcoming summer 2026 Season. Located 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals shows every summer. Costume Shop Technicians will work directly with the Costume Designer and Costume Shop Manager to execute the building and fitting of all productions in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated and team oriented, with a strong background in costume construction and must be proficient with hand and machine (home and industrial) sewing, alterations, and flat patterning. Basic draping, dyeing, costume crafts, and millinery are all assets.
Qualified candidates must be able to lift 25 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover. $500.00 weekly, housing, travel stipend are provided. Job Dates: May 29–September 6, 2026 (flexible).

The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Costume Shop Manager/First Hand for its upcoming summer 2026 Season. Located just 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every summer. The Costume Shop Manager/First Hand will work directly with the Costume Designer to execute the patterning, building and fitting of all productions in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated and team oriented, with a strong background in costume construction (patterning, cutting, draping) and must be proficient with hand and machine sewing and alterations. As shop manager, candidates will be responsible for scheduling the team’s hours, maintaining the shop inventory, and budgets.
Qualified candidates must be able to lift 25 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover. $600.00 weekly, housing, travel stipend, and some meals are provided. Job Dates: May 29–September 6, 2026 (flexible).

The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Properties Designer for its upcoming summer 2026 Season. Located just 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every summer. The Properties designer will work directly with the Director, Choreographers, Scenic Designers and Technical Director to execute the building and acquisition of all props in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong background in props construction, scenic construction, and must be proficient with hand and power tools, upholstering, as well as basic/advanced scenic painting. The Properties Designer will often work in the scene shop with alongside the carpentry team to execute scenic and prop construction and design as needed.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Sound Engineer/A2 for its upcoming summer 2026 Season. Located 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every Summer as well as 4 special events and concerts during the season. The Sound Engineer/A2 will work closely with the Director, Choreographers, Sound Supervisor and Technical Director to implement the sound design and maintain all sound equipment. Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong background in digital console programming. Candidates should be familiar with Sennheiser and Shure wireless systems, qLab, and line by line mixing (familiar with a Yamaha TF2). Candidates should be comfortable mixing 16-20 wireless microphones as well as mixing a 5-7 piece orchestra.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Hair/Wig & Make-up Designer for its upcoming summer 2023 Season. Located just 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every summer. Candidates must be very comfortable with the care, styling, and maintenance of lace front wigs of all hair textures, hair styling, and must possess a strong knowledge of theatrical make-up. The Designer will work closely with each production team throughout the summer to execute both contemporary and period specific styles as well as the running of shows with any necessary quick changes.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Wardrobe Supervisor and Assistant for its upcoming summer 2026 Season. Located 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every summer as well as 4 special events and concerts during the season. These positions oversee all wardrobe related activities during the season including costume and paperwork maintenance, labeling, hanging and storage, costume preset, cleaning, pressing and steaming, maintaining inventory and restoring. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years experience working in professional wardrobe departments. Candidates must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking Stage Management (PSM and ASM) for its upcoming summer 2026 Season. Located 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every summer as well as 4 special events and concerts during the season. Stage Managers work closely with all departments of the theater from management, cast and crew to the front of house staff to create a safe, efficient, and positive work environment. Excellent communication skills are required and candidates must be highly organized.
Duties will include:
Maintaining show related paperwork including daily calls, run sheets, and prop/cast tracking
Running all rehearsals and techs according to set schedule
Devising Stage Management deck track for show run
Setting up performances space and assisting in breakdown post show as needed
Checking specific spaces and structures for cleanliness and safety
Performing preset responsibilities and handling props
Communicate with staff over radio
Keeping a running list of notes for nightly rehearsal and performance reports
Be able to respond to performer and staff injuries and first aid needs
