Ethan is very excited for his first summer season at the Mac-Haydn Theatre! He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he double-majored in Theatre and Philosophy. While in school, he developed an interest in theatrical audio and worked as the sound designer on multiple undergraduate productions while maintaining a part-time job as a stagehand at the on-campus concert venue. Maintaining this career trajectory post-graduation has led him here to the Mac-Haydn, where he looks forward to creating fantastic musical theatre while significantly expanding his design portfolio. In his free time, Ethan enjoys playing video games, reading pretentious philosophical texts, and slowly developing a caffeine addiction.
Costume Designer - Spamalot
Angela Carstensen is thrilled to join The Mac-Haydn Theatre costume staff for the first time! During the rest of her year she works at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts in Fredericksburg VA as the resident Children’s Theatre Designer and First Hand. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.A. in technical theatre. She wishes to thank Jimm Halliday for this amazing opportunity!
Kevin Gleason – This is Kevin’s eighteenth season at the Mac-Haydn. He is a sought after designer in the New York/ Connecticut area, but is happy to call Chatham “home” each summer. His favorite show was LEGALLY BLONDE (2012).
Andrew Gmoser (Lighting Designer) is thrilled to be back for his 24th season at the Mac-Haydn Theatre, after coming to “help out” with the tech for PHANTOM in 1993. Since then he has designed the lighting for more than 150 MHT shows and created the sets for some of our most spectacular productions, including BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JEKYLL & HYDE, LES MISERABLES, and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. Andrew loves his job designing for all levels of theatre, from high school programs through professional Broadway-caliber productions, and received the Cab Calloway Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Performing Arts in Westchester. Since 1990 he has designed the lighting and visual effects for all mainstage productions at Westchester Broadway Theatre, the longest running professional theatre in NYS. Andrew’s best and most important production is with his lovely wife, Catherine: their eighteen year old twins, Thomas and Elizabeth!
Costume Designer - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Anything Goes, Sweeney Todd
Beginning with ANNIE in 1984, Jimm has been a fixture here at The Mac for 33 seasons, having designed over 185 MainStage musicals. With the NETworks Touring Group, Jimm has been the Costume Director for over 25 National Tours since 1999, including VICTOR/VICTORIA with Toni Tennille, ANNIE at Madison Square Garden with Katie Lee Gifford, BULLY with John Davidson, and SWEET CHARITY with Molly Ringwold. Jimm was the US Costume Associate for the last National Tour of LES MISERABLES and the Costume Director for the Toronto production of the show, which then transferred to Broadway. He also was Costume Director for the Kennedy Center production of RAGTIME, winning the Helen Hayes Award for Best Costume Design. This fall Jimm will be working on the National Tours of THE SOUND OF MUSIC and THE GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER. Special thanks to the amazing collection of cutters, stitchers, wardrobe and wig designers that have made these productions come to life, and to Lynne, John and Monica for always being there.
Assistant Director - Anything Goes
Patrick Heffernan is happy to be back at Mac-Haydn for a forth summer! His first season was in 2012 and he’s been seen on stage in shows such as LEGALLY BLONDE (Emmett), THE FANTASTICS (El Gallo), SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN (Don Lockwood) and WEST SIDE STORY (Gladhand). National Tours include: FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (Perchik), ANYTHING GOES and 42ND STREET. Patrick graduated Wagner College and is originally from southern CA, though Chatham has become a home away from home. While not performing he enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, tap dancing and eating chocolate chip cookies.

Erin Kiernan- is returning to the Mac for her 6th summer. Past favorite designs, OLIVER, LA CAGE, THE MUSIC MAN, RENT and SOUTH PACIFIC. When not here with her MHT family she is the resident paint charge, scenic painting instructor and a designer at Adelphi University. This summer and everything after is dedicated to Aaron.
Choreographer - Saturday Night Fever
James Kinney is honored to return to The Mac-Haydn and bring the cellblock to life with CHICAGO! Last season, he directed and choreographed the acclaimed production of WEST SIDE STORY. Broadway performing credits include: FOSSE, DANCE OF DEATH, Barry Manilow’s HARMONY and the most recent revival of SWEET CHARITY, starring Christina Applegate, where he also served as the production’s Assistant Dance Captain. James began to focus in on the art of choreography, and found himself conceiving and creating an original new dance work for DANCE TRACKS NYC, set to Stephen Sondheim’s song “Another Hundred People”, and premiering at Lincoln Center. Other choreographic favorites include: GUY AND DOLLS starring Jessica Beil, I DO, I DO! at The Old Globe, HELLO DOLLY! starring Sally Struthers, HERMES OF PARIS, and many more! Today, James’s work can be seen on stages and television screens around the country. David Maglione (Musical Director): Dave is a New Jersey based composer, music director, accompanist, and theater nerd. He is the full time Music Director at the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Montclair High School, as well as a pianist at Montclair State University. Other credits (as MD/AMD) include: IN THE HEIGHTS, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS (Original score), INTO THE WOODS, PETER PAN, and NEXT TO NORMAL, to name a few. He is currently writing music and lyrics for a new musical entitled FITTED UP: THE FIGHT TO PROVE MY INNOCENCE, based on the book of the same name, which received a developmental presentation last year at Open Bar Theatricals. Costume Designer - Hello, Dolly!
Bethany Marx is an Assistant Professor of Costume Design at SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, NY where she teaches costume design, construction and history courses. Recent productions include COLONY COLLAPSE, THE GOOD PERSON OF SZECHWAN and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. Professional design credits include the Capital Repertory Theatre, the DC Fringe Festival, the Virginia Shakespeare Festival, the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre and the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis. Bethany moved to New York after six years teaching at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she designed and constructed costumes for theatre and film. She hold a BFA from the University of Evansville in Evansville, IN and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Sebastiani is a Brooklyn based choreographer, performer, and teaching artist. His choreography has been seen at the Mac-Haydn in THE ADDAMS FAMILY and THE PRODUCERS. Other choreography credits include Andrew Lippa’s THE WILD PARTY (Yale), SPRING AWAKENING (Sarah Lawrence), KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN (NYU), WALK THE NIGHT (Blue Barn Theater), BURIED TRASURE (NYU), HELLO, AGAIN (NYU), and as a collaborator on the New York Times Critic’s pick THE GRAND PARADISE. He works as an assistant to and collaborator with Chris Gatelli (Broadway: NEWSIES, WAR PAINT, THE KING AND I, GODSPELL, and the upcoming SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MUSICAL). He is also a performer and was last seen Judah in JOSEPH…DREAMCOAT at the Mac, and has performed at Lincoln Center, The Merry Go Round Playhouse, SLEEP NO MORE (NYC), SEEING YOU (NYU), THE GRAND PARADISE (NYC). Wig and Makeup Designer
Born and raised in Minnesota, Tim trained in building/styling wigs at the Guthrie Theatre. He has worked with wigs/hair at various theatres across the country including: The Alley, Penumbra, Royal Caribbean Productions, and the University of Minnesota at the Guthrie. He has a BA in theatre from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Tim is excited to be working at the Mac this season for the first time!
Jillian Zack is very excited to be working at the Mac this summer! Past shows include: BABY (Theatre Row), ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (Theatre Workshop of Nantucket), THE FULL MONTY (TWN), and INTO THE WOODS (TWN). Concert venues include Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and London’s Wigmore Hall. Jillian performs as a recital partner throughout the US, UK and New Zealand, and maintains a full vocal coaching studio in NYC. Degrees from both the Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School.
