Please take a moment to read through these protocols before you come to the theatre. We hope you will understand that these precautions are in place for the safety and health of our patrons, employees and the wider community.

Do I Need To Be Vaccinated To Attend A Performance?

No.

Yes. All patrons, staff and performers need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine in order to attend performances at the Mac-Haydn Theatre. Furthermore, all patrons entering the theatre must show proof of vaccination with their valid ticket.

Though this may be adjusted as we get closer to our season, as of February, 2023 “Fully vaccinated” means the performance date you are attending must be:

  • At least 14 days after your second dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • At least 14 days after your single dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.

The only exception to the above will be for children under the age of 12, who must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult, wear a mask for the entire performance and also provide proof of the following:

  • A negative antigen COVID-19 test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time, or
  • A negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time.

Please note, there will be absolutely no exceptions to this testing requirement for children under the age of 12.

Am I Required To Wear A Mask?

No. Though we do strongly encourage you to do so if it will make you feel more comfortable.

Yes. Out of an abundance of caution and because of the confined nature of our space and access points, we are requiring all patrons to wear masks while they are indoors at the theatre. This includes while you are seated.

Note that patrons may remove their masks while in the uncovered areas surrounding the theatre’s entrance.

We thank you in advance for your willingness to comply.

Once seated you may remove your mask. Your mask must then be worn again as you move about the theatre or exit the building.

Children

We are delighted to be able to welcome all children back to the theatre in 2023. We have missed having them.

Unfortunately, we will not be allowing unvaccinated children to attend the theatre, even if they have been tested and are accompanied by a vaccinated adult. As always, we are operating with an abundance of caution in an effort to protect the Mac-Haydn family and the Columbia County community. If you had intended to bring your child to the theatre, please Contact Our Box Office immediately.

What Proof Of My Vaccination Do I Need?

Proof of Vaccination

Proof of vaccination must come directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination.

Guests can display proof on a smartphone or present a physical copy.

New York State residents or anyone who received a COVID-19 vaccine in New York State may present proof through the use of the Excelsior Pass.

Click Here for more details and to sign up for the Excelsior Pass.

Government Issued Photo ID

In addition to proof of vaccination, all guests 18 years or older must also be prepared to present a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Guests younger than 18 may use a government-issued photo ID or school photo ID.

Please note, there will be absolutely no exceptions to these identification requirements.

I Was Vaccinated With A Vaccine Not Approved By The FDA. Can I Attend?

No. At the direction of New York State, The Mac-Haydn Theatre will only be accepting proof of FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson).

I Am Not Getting Vaccinated Or Will Not Be Fully Vaccinated In Time. Is There Any Way I Can Attend?

We are very sorry but unfortunately you are not eligible to attend any Mac-Haydn performances in 2022.

We hope you understand that the health and safety of our community must be our number one priority and that we must comply with the guidelines of the CDC and New York State Health authorities.

We really hope to see you back at the Mac-Haydn in the future.
