FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Sun Will Come Out at the Mac-Haydn Theatre! Annie Runs August 7–17
CHATHAM, NY (August 7, 2025)—The Mac-Haydn Theatre is thrilled to bring back the beloved Broadway classic Annie for a two-week run August 7–17, in a heartwarming production filled with laughter, song, and the unshakable belief that better days are ahead.
Leading the cast as the spirited young orphan are rising stars Wild Handel and Gwen Matthews, who will alternate in the title role. Both deliver powerful performances full of charm, resilience, and optimism, embodying the spirit that has made Annie a favorite for generations.
Returning to the Mac-Haydn stage are two audience favorites in roles they’ve made iconic. George Dvorsky reprises his award-winning performance as Oliver Warbucks, the hard-nosed billionaire with a soft heart. Dvorsky earned the Berkshire Theatre Critics Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical in 2018 for his portrayal of Warbucks at the Mac-Haydn.
Opposite him, the inimitable Monica M. Wemitt once again takes on the hilarious and villainous role of Miss Hannigan. Wemitt’s unforgettable turn as the scheming orphanage matron has made her a standout in past productions, earning her a Berkshire Theatre Critics Award nomination for her comedic brilliance and impeccable timing.
The production features beloved songs including “Tomorrow,” “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” and “Maybe,” brought to life with Mac-Haydn’s signature energy and intimacy. Don’t miss your chance to experience this joyous celebration of optimism, family, and the power of believing in a better tomorrow.
