Mac-Haydn Theatre Kicks Off 2025 Season with Rodgers & Hammerstein’s A Grand Night For Singing

CHATHAM, NY (June 3, 2025)—The Mac-Haydn Theatre is thrilled to open its 56th season with the charming and elegant musical revue, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s A Grand Night for Singing, playing June 5–15. This celebration of the legendary Rodgers & Hammerstein songbook offers a fresh take on some of the most beloved classics in American musical theatre.

Leading the production is director, Eoghan Hartley, who is making his Mac-Haydn directorial debut. Eoghan has worked at the theater since 2019, most recently as production supervisor. He is joined by Anthony Michael Velez as choreographer. Anthony has been a performer at the Mac-Haydn since 2021, this marks his first production as choreographer. With musical direction by Evelyn Tomaro, A Grand Night for Singing brings together more than thirty Rodgers & Hammerstein songs from iconic shows such as The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, and more. The production breathes new life into these timeless numbers with inventive arrangements and a contemporary sensibility.

“We are beyond excited to launch our season with a show that honors the great American musical tradition,” said John Saunders, Producing Artistic Director. “A Grand Night For Singing is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern—an ideal evening for longtime musical lovers and newcomers alike.”

The intimate cast consists of a mix of return performers and newcomers. Belle Babcock and Tristan Caldwell return after closing last season in The Fantasticks. Isabella Bertoni, Bridget Carrow, and Logan Pavia all make their debut as performers.

This dazzling revue earned Tony Award nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical when it premiered on Broadway, and continues to resonate with audiences thanks to its emotional depth, playful wit, and irresistible melodies.
