FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Streetwise Storytelling Arrives with A Bronx Tale at Mac-Haydn. The Hit Musical Makes Its Mac-Haydn Debut July 10–20.
CHATHAM, NY (June 19, 2025)—The Mac-Haydn Theatre continues its dynamic 2025 season with the long-awaited debut of A Bronx Tale, running July 10 through July 20. This marks the first time Mac-Haydn has staged the gritty and heartwarming musical based on Chazz Palminteri’s one-man show and the acclaimed film of the same name—and one of the first in the region.
This powerful coming-of-age story set in the 1960s Bronx follows a young Italian-American boy, Calogero (Logan Pavia), torn between the values of his hardworking father (Gabe Belyeu) and the temptations of a charismatic mob boss (Mike Keller). Featuring a high-energy score by Oscar and Tony winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, A Bronx Tale pulses with the rhythm of the streets while exploring timeless themes of loyalty, love, and the choices that define us.
Director Steve Edlund makes his Mac-Haydn debut. Edlund was the associate director to Jerry Zaks on the original Papermill, Broadway, and National Tour productions. Kaitlyn Frank returns to the Mac-Haydn as choreographer, seen last on stage in 2013. Music director Evelyn Tomaro leads the six-piece band.
A Bronx Tale is a bold and dynamic addition to Mac-Haydn’s 2025 season, showcasing the company’s commitment to presenting a wide range of musical theatre—from golden-age classics to contemporary hits. Audiences can expect a thrilling production featuring knockout performances, sharp choreography, and the signature intimacy that only the Mac-Haydn can deliver.
