Camelot Creative Team 2019

Camelot opens our 51st season and we have assembled an awesome Creative Team, some of whom you know, and some of whom you are yet to discover.

After starring as Quasimodo in last years epic production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mac-Haydn favorite James Rodgers moves back to the directors chair. He last directed for us in our 2014 production of Sondheim’s Putting It Together. He is joined by choreographer Elizabeth McGuire who has an extensive background in immersive and innovative theatre that includes her work with ToUch Performance Art, a company she foundered.

Artistic Director John Saunders is excited about what these two artists will bring to the round table: “With their collective understanding of classical art forms and desire to present them in innovative ways while remaining true to the spirit of the material, James and Lizzie are a perfect combination for us. We’re really excited to see a Camelot that is unlike any we have presented before.”

Rodgers couldn’t be happier: “John has put together a fabulous team for this. Camelot is such an iconic show but so many aspects of this story are frighteningly relevant today. Hope, love, belief and the pitfalls of those things playout in very powerful ways in the political world of Camelot.”

The wonderful David Maglione, who will be with us all season as Music Supervisor, leads the musical forces and Alison Zador returns to design the costumes. The dynamic duo of Kevin Gleason and Andrew Gmoser join forces again for the set and lighting designs.

Some new faces round things out with Sound Designer Corbin White, Props Designer Joshua Gallagher and Hair & Makeup Designer Matthew Oliver.

It promises to be an exciting opening to our Summer ’19 Season.
