We are located 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires. We are producing 6 mainstage musicals as part of our 2023 Summer Season.

Costume Designers
Costumes for classic and contemporary musicals are very much in focus on our intimate, unique theatre-in-the-round stage. You’ll work with top caliber directors and artistic staff, combining your new designs with our extensive stock to create shows that look stunning. Hands-on position; fully staffed costume shop on premises.
Costume Shop: Technicians
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking Costume Shop Technicians (Stitchers) for its upcoming Summer 23 Season.
Costume Shop Technicians will work directly with the Costume Designer and Costume Shop Manager to execute the building and fitting of all productions in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated and team oriented, with a strong background in costume construction and must be proficient with hand and machine (home and industrial) sewing, alterations, and flat patterning. Basic draping, dyeing, costume crafts, and millinery are all assets.
Candidates must be able to lift 25 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover.
$500.00 weekly, Housing, Travel Stipend are provided.

Costume Shop: Cutter/Draper
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Cutter/Draper for its upcoming Summer 22 Season. Located just 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, The Mac-Haydn produces 7 mainstage musicals every Summer.
The Cutter/Draper will work directly with the Costume Designer and Costume Shop Manager to execute the patterning, building and fitting of all productions in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated and team oriented, with a strong background in costume construction (patterning, cutting, draping) and must be proficient with hand and machine sewing and alterations.

Costume Shop: Wardrobe Supervisor
The Wardrobe Supervisor will work directly with the Stage Manager, Costume Designer,and Costume Shop Manager to execute the organizing and running of all productions in the season.
Applicants should be highly motivated and team oriented, with a strong background in Wardrobe Supervising and the management of a team of dressers/interns. Candidates must be proficient in both hand and machine sewing to handle light alterations when needed. Candidates must be highly organized and able to generate paperwork and notes for each production as well as the running of the show. Wardrobe Supervisor will be responsible for the laundry and general upkeep of each production. Candidates must be able to lift 25 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover. Competitive salary, Housing, Travel Stipend, and some meals are provided. Job Dates (flexible) are May 12- Sept.2, 2019.

Costume Shop: Shop Mananger/First Hand
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Costume Shop Manager/First Hand for its upcoming Summer 23 Season.
The Costume Shop Manager/First Hand will work directly with the Costume Designer to execute the patterning, building and fitting of all productions in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated and team oriented, with a strong background in costume construction (patterning, cutting, draping) and must be proficient with hand and machine sewing and alterations.
As shop manager, candidates will be responsible for scheduling the team’s hours, maintaining the shop inventory, and budgets.
Candidates must be able to lift 25 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover.
$600.00 weekly, Housing, Travel Stipend, and some meals are provided.

Scenic Designers/Artists
Enhance the atmosphere, define the location and add to the action with sets that creatively set the scenes of classic and contemporary musicals. You’ll work with top caliber directors and artistic staff, combining our new designs with our stock pieces to create shows that look stunning. Hands-on position to work out technical and space situations; also do own painting with some assistance. Fully staffed scene shop on premises.

Stage Management
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking Stage Management (PSM and ASM) for its upcoming Summer 2023 Season. Located 2 hours north of NYC and nestled between The Catskill Mountains and The Berkshires, The Mac-Haydn produces 6 mainstage musicals every Summer as well as 4 special events and concerts during the season. Stage Managers work closely with all departments of the theater from management, cast and crew to volunteers to create a safe, efficient, and positive work environment. Excellent communication skills are required and candidates must be highly organized.
Duties Will Include
- Maintaining show related paperwork including daily calls, run sheets, and prop/cast tracking
- Running all rehearsals and techs according to set schedule
- Devising Stage Management track for show run
- Setting up performances space and assisting in breakdown post show as needed
- Checking specific spaces and structures for cleanliness and safety
- Performing preset responsibilities and handling props
- Correspond with staff over radio
- Keeping a running list of notes for nightly rehearsal and performance reports
- Be able to respond to performer and staff injuries and first aid needs
Qualified Candidates must be highly motivated and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment. $500.00 - $550.00 weekly, Housing, and Travel Stipend are provided. Carpenters
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking Scenic Carpenters for its upcoming Summer 23 Season. Scenic Carpenters will work directly with the Scenic Designer and Technical Director to execute the building and installation of all productions in the season.
Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong background in scenic construction and must be proficient with hand and power tools, drafting, as well as basic/advanced scenic painting. Candidates must be able to lift 75 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover.
$500.00 weekly, Housing, and Travel Stipend are provided.

Properties Designer
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Properties Designer for its upcoming Summer 23 Season.
The Properties designer will work directly with the Director, Choreographers, Scenic Designers and Technical Director to execute the building and acquisition of all props in the season. Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong background in Props construction, scenic construction and must be proficient with hand and power tools, upholstering. as well as basic/advanced scenic painting.
Candidates must be able to lift 75 pounds and be ready to work in an exciting and fun environment with a very fast changeover.
$500.00 weekly, Housing, Travel Stipend are provided.

Wardrobe Mistress/Master
Work with top caliber directors, designers and staff from New York City and around the country, maintaining and dressing musicals. Strong organizational, dressing and repair skills and ability to work calmly through some multi-show days are a must. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: maintain all costumes of show in performance: repairs, cleaning, etc., insure that costumes are maintained properly as to fabric care, etc., work with director and stage manager to plan quick changes, assign and execute changes, set up for shows, maintain dressing room areas in safe, workable manner; clean, launder, repair and restock costumes at close of show.

Hair/Wig and Make-Up Designer
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Hair/Wig & Make-Up Designer for its upcoming Summer 23 Season.
Candidates must be very comfortable with the care, styling, and maintenance of lace front wigs of all hair textures, hair styling, and must possess a strong knowledge of theatrical make-up. The Designer will work closely with each production team throughout the summer to execute both contemporary and period specific styles as well as the running of shows with any necessary quick changes.
Qualified Candidates must be highly motivated and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Sound Engineer/A2
The Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY is seeking a Sound Engineer/A2 for its upcoming Summer 23 Season.
The Sound Engineer/A2 will work closely with the Director, Choreographers, Sound Supervisor and Technical Director to implement the sound design and maintain all sound equipment.
Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong background in digital console programming. Candidates should be familiar with Sennheiser and Shure wireless systems, qLab, and line by line mixing (familiar with a Yamaha TF2). Candidates should be comfortable mixing 16-20 wireless microphones as well as mixing a 5-7 piece orchestra.

Wardrobe Intern
Excellent professional experience for person enthusiastic to learn more about all aspects of wardrobe. Work with experienced wardrobe head; responsibilities include but may not be limited to: assist with maintenance (laundry, cleaning, repair) and running shows (setting costumes, quick changes), keep dressing room areas safe and workable, restock costumes to storage.
Tech Intern
Excellent professional experience for person enthusiastic to learn more about all aspects of technical theatre. Primarily working in scene shop, helping build sets for unique theatre-in-the-round space; also assisting in all other tech areas as needed, possibility of running lights or sound for some shows.
Drummer/Percussionist
Job Dates: June 20 - October 2 (Full season).
Pay: $550.00 with $100.00 travel stipend and housing
Please note that MHT does not have a house drum kit. The musician will need to provide the essentials: Kick, Snare, Toms, HighHat, Cymbals, and Hardware. “Specialty Instruments” and Auxiliary Percussion will be provided per show, as needed.
