
“You did what you do best, at our cast house fire, so we are showing you what we do best,” Mac-Haydn Theatre staff told the firefighters who attended the dress rehearsal of GREASE on the evening of Wednesday, August 3.
Over two dozen members of the responding companies to the July 13 fire that destroyed the Mac-Haydn house at Bushnell and Hudson Avenues in Chatham: Chatham, Ghent, Red Rock, East Chatham, Niverville, Valatie, the Chatham Ladies Auxiliary, stand-by companies Kinderhook and Austerlitz, Chatham Rescue Squad and the Red Cross attended, including those shown here: (l-r) Geoffrey Kurtz, Daniel Lamarre, Wally Engel, Christopher Brennan, Nick Butta, Daniel “Bud" Lamarre, Jeff Radley, Barbara Laspada, Tony Brahm, Karen Borovich, and Barbara Fischer.
The firefighters enjoyed the performance, had refreshments, and met some of the crew members who lived in the home.
