We are saddened to note that Stephen Bolte (Luther Billis: South Pacific, Lutz: The Student Prince, Gus, the Theatre Cat: Cats) has passed away. He was our friend for years, and cheered people on stage in his many, many delightful character roles, as well as off stage with his zany antics. Our condolences to his family and friends.

Overheard on NPR's Saturday afternoon Metropolitan Opera broadcast: an interview with MHT alumnus Mike Gamborone (1992 and 1993; Arpad in She Loves Me, among others). He's been with the Met for eight years, full time as a staff performer for four years. His roles have included Young Harlequin in Adriadne aux Naxos. He's having a great time, even though some stage appearances are as a "non-singing spear carrier." Work since his MHT days include a national tour of Grease and cruise ship entertaining.
Also found out that Donald Panella (Samuel in Pirates of Penzance, Aggie in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas & more) is also at the Metropolitan Opera. He and Mike Gomborone are enjoying MHT chat as fellow alumni.

Jimm Halliday, our Costume Designer Extraordinaire, whose designs make so many of you say ‘"those are beautiful!," has been nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Costume Design for the Kennedy Center production of RAGTIME, which played in Washington, DC in spring 2009. The awards are presented on April 5 at the Warner Theatre in Washington. Jimm has also designed, and kept up, the costumes seen in the NETworks tour of Annie, playing its final performance March 14 at Proctors in Schenectady after almost 11 years of performances all across the country. Many MHT alumni have appeared in the cast over the years; the show will take a much needed rest before returning for its 40th year Anniversary Production. Annie is not his only NETworks show, he’s designed a host of the major touring company shows.
